Five Questions for Alex

All right, I'm not sure anymore where questions are supposed to get posted when you're the one asking them--so here are your five questions, Alex.

1. If you moved into a house where every room had a color theme, and everything in that room had to be a shade of the same color, what color would you choose for your bedroom? The living room? The kitchen?

2. If you were forced to close your radio show every week with one song from a style of music you really dislike, what style would you pick?

3. If the full moon transformed you into a potato product (like tater tots, or curly fries), what sort of potato product would you be?

4. All right, I'm going to combine two of the questions you asked me, because they were great. Who would be your CARTOON sexual trump card? If such a thing were possible, of course....

5. Dilexi has presented you with two choices--choose wisely.

a) You decide to open a bakery. (see comments on the post called "Someday, I will..." for the consequenses.)
b) You decide to take a trip to England. (see comments on the post called "I Agree" for the consequenses.)

Interesting...

In a Past Life...

You Were: An Insane Spice Trader.

Where You Lived: India.

How You Died: Buried alive.

Interview!

Here are Alex's five questions for me, and my answers, and soon to follow are five questions for Alex. Just as a reminder on the rules, if you want to be interviewed, leave me a comment telling me so.

Alright Rachel, you wanted questions? you got 'em! Of course, I fully expect questions from you now : )

1. The age old debate: PIRATES or NINJAS? Pick one and clearly explain why.

Well, pirates are undoubtedly very cool. Jack Sparrow, for instance, was for a time the hero of my world. I'm a big fan of pirates. But that said, I absolutely have to pick ninjas--just because I think ninja turtles are even cooler than pirates. They're MUTANTS, for crying out loud!

2. [ok this next one will be a bit of a journey...] My friend Abby has this thing where she says she'd sleep with Bob Dylan on principle. Her reason being (aside from... you know... it's Bob Dylan) it would be the ultimate trump card.

ex.
person x: Hey, guess what?
Abby: what?
person x: I won an autographed vintage copy of Abbey Road!
Abby: yeah? I slept with Bob Dylan.

Who is your sexual trump card? Choose anyone-- s/he need not be alive though ideally s/he should be real (i.e. "Frodo Baggins" not acceptable) and explain your choice.

Hmm.... this is interesting. Now that you've said Frodo Baggins, I keep thinking of not real people! But the first real person who comes to mind is Melissa Etheridge--which would be amazing, I think, when I saw her in concert she was the most energetic rocker I have ever witnessed. Imagine what that would be like in bed...

3. BLOOD AND BLOODY ASHES! You've now got a resident crazy (or crazies) living in your head (à la Rand with Lews Therin Tellamon) of the following who would you rather hear jabbering crazily at the most inopportune moments?

a.) the Siamese cats from Lady and the Tramp-- keep in mind they'll be singing most of the time...
b.) the guy from the Orange Glo/Oxy Clean commercials
c.) Pocahontas [but everything she says is to the same tune as "should i marry Kokoum... steady as the beating drum"]
d.) Dilexi AND Think and Jump

Oh my God.... I think out of loyalty I'd have to pick Dilexi and Think and Jump... Pocahontas might be all right, too, though I might go mad with that same tune in my head all the time! At least Dilexi might tell me useful things, and Think and Jump would be cute!

4. You are assembling a group of individuals to go on a quest (think the fellowship of the ring) the catch is they must all be cartoon characters-- who do you choose and why? (there are 9 in the fellowship.. so choose 8 others, and if you feel so inclined pick someone who you would be.)

Well, question #1 has inspired me to include Michelangelo (for the laughs) and Donatello (for the brain) of the Ninja Turtles, due to their coolness and exceptional ninja skills. After that I'd definitely need someone magical, especially for a quest, and that would have to be Schmendrick, from The Last Unicorn...and he doesn't go anywhere without Molly Grue, so she should definitely come along too. Two more..... well, this is getting into realms you don't know, but I think I'd want to take Nuriko, Tasuki and Chichiri from my favorite anime, Fushigi Yuugi--all definitely good news on a quest of any kind. That leaves one more....which, to make the questing go faster, would have to be Spirit (as in, Stallion of the Cimmarron), so that I could ride. ;)

5. Useless powers part deux. Just like maddie, you develop a strange, and for the most part, completely useless power. Of the following what do you choose?

a.) the ability to detect cornflakes within a radius 200 yards... with your pinky toe.
b.) the ability to talk to potatoes
c.) the ability to make your own personal rain storm. But only right above your own head.
d.) the ability/ to speak only in haiku/ continuously

Ooh, it's hard to choose between talking to potatoes and speaking in haiku.... But I think I have to go with the haiku. I like to eat potatoes, and I'm afraid if I could talk to them I'd feel terrible eating them.

All right, there are my answers! Your questions are soon to follow.

Another Totally Writer-Based Survey!

Let's make it a game, so that this is less boring for those of you who are not me--if you think you know your number, or someone else's, leave a comment, and if you're right, I'll give you a prize. Which will probably be a hug, or a congratulations, but you know. C'mon, it'll be fun. And I wrote down the names in totally random order, not even in the order I thought of them, so don't be sad if you discover that you're #30.

Name 25 random people you know (NO ORDER!)

Interesting....

The first time I took this, I got Agnostic, which seemed to say that I don't care about whether or not God exists. Which is untrue. So I went back and took it again, to see what would happen if I changed one answer...and this is what I got:

You are a Believer

You believe in God and your chosen religion.
Whether you're Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or Hindu..
Your convictions are strong and unwavering.
You think your religion is the one true way, for everyone.

Someday, I will......

You Should Get a MFA (Masters of Fine Arts)

You're a blooming artistic talent, even if you aren't quite convinced.
You'd make an incredible artist, photographer, or film maker.

I Agree.

Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence

You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well.
An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly.
You are also good at remembering information and convicing someone of your point of view.
A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.

You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.

Really?

I think Becky got all the answers I wanted for these quizzes...

Your Hair Should Be Pink

Hyper, insane, and a boatload of fun.
You're a traveling party that everyone loves to follow.

Hah!

Wrong!

You Are Likely a Third Born
At your darkest moments, you feel vulnerable. At work and school, you do best when you're comparing things. When you love someone, you tend to like to please them.
In friendship, you are loyal to one person.Your ideal careers are: sales, police officer, newspaper reporter, inventor, poet, and animal trainer. You will leave your mark on the world with inventions, poetry, and inspiration.

Fun Game!

Here are the rules:

1 -- Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 -- I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 -- You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 -- You'll include this explanation.
5 -- You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

Becky's Interview Questions for Me:

5 questions for Rachel!

1. If you had to have any one of your beliefs truly reversed... that is, you would believe the opposite of what you now believe as strongly as what you believe now... what would it be, how do you think your new belief would turn out, and why would you choose this belief? (Sorry, that's really long. But I think it's interesting...)

This one is really hard, I had to save it to answer last. I think maybe I would change what I believe about personal faith, and personal religion... Which, right now, is that (for me at least) faith is sort of a secret. Not that it shouldn't be shown ever, but that... it's a private thing. I think that I might have an easier time dealing with religion, if I turned that around. It might benefit me, as opposed to other beliefs I could change that would not be beneficial.

2. If you were suddenly put in another body, do you think you could convince everyone in your life that it was really you? If not, who would you have trouble convincing, and why do you think so?
I think I could probably convince many people that it was me.... I think I might have trouble convincing people I was not as close to, like extended family, or friends who aren't close. I think I couldn't convince such people because they don't know what I'm like, or don't know my stories, or my secrets, well enough to recognize me in a different body.

3. What is the worst thing you would do to get something you really wanted?
I think that depends on the thing. On what it is, and why I want it. But I think I can say with some confidence, and knowledge of many exceptions, that the worst I would do is steal it.

4. Can you imagine something, or someone, being so compelling that you would immediately abandon your life as it is to follow it or them? What kind of pull would it/they have to exert for you to do this?
Are we talking about Jesus, here? ;) That's what the question makes me think of... dropping everything to follow someone. I can imagine that in an abstract sense--someone so compelling that other people drop everything and follow. I can't quite imagine it happening to me, though I also don't think it's impossible... I think they would have to pull on me in many ways at once. Like, not just be so wise, or so kind, or so loving, or so powerful, or so convincing that I would follow...they would have to be all of those things.

5. If you could go back and change one action in your past that you directly took, would you? If you would, what would it be?
Maybe I'm just not thinking of the right things...but I don't think I would. I think I've ended up all right, despite anything I did that I could have done differently, and I'm not sure there would be much point in fixing them now that they're past.

Privacy!

You are MODERATELY PRIVATE. You don't share
everything with everybody, but you know when to
open up to people you really trust, often a
group of close friends. This creates a nice
balance for you, with people to help nuture
different sides of yourself. You also probably
have a balanced view of trust itself,
understanding that it can mean different things
at different times and still be real.
Besides, sometimes it's nice to keep a secret
just for you.

Not a Cannibal

Well, I thought I would get dark chocolate, since that's what I like to eat best, but I guess it's good I didn't--I wouldn't want to eat myself.

You are Milk Chocolate

A total dreamer, you spend most of your time with your head in the clouds.
You often think of the future, and you are always working toward your ideal life.
Also nostelgic, you rarely forget a meaningful moment... even those from long ago.

Hmmm...

What does this mean? My kisses are 60% pure? Would they be purer if I had kissed on an airplane?

Your Kissing Purity Score: 60% Pure

For you, kissing isn't a casual thing

Lip to lip action makes your heart sing

Um... Really? Maybe I Just Like Orange.

What do you, my faithful readers, think of this result? Do you agree? I am uncertain.

Your Brain's Pattern
Your mind is a firestorm - full of intensity and drama.Your thoughts may seem scattered to you most of the time...But they often seem strong and passionate to those around you.You are a natural influencer. The thoughts you share are very powerful and persuading.

You may say I'm a dreamer....

You Are a Dreaming Soul
Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you awy from this worldSo much so that you tend to live in your head most of the timeYou have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult
You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.
Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul

What Kind of Soul Are You?

What is there to say?

Well, everyone has been prolific on their blogs except me in the last few days...so I thought I'd check in. Except I haven't much to say... or maybe I have too much. The GRE English Subject Test is tomorrow... I feel much calmer about it than seems normal, but that's good, I suppose. Kirstin is back home again, done with her stint as a truck driver... I haven't seen her yet, though. Maddie and maybe Alex are coming over tomorrow afternoon/evening/sometime after the GRE, and that's exciting... Yay for company. Maybe they'll stay over, which would be even more fun. And maybe we'll go to Mad for Mex and get el no bono wingos, San Fran style, my fav. And that's the latest on my life.... Moving along, at a slightly more rapid pace on all fronts than it was before--a little raise, a little hope for school in the future, a little romance... I feel like I have a good life. I'm glad.

Blogger Hates Me.

I've determined that Blogger dislikes me...perhaps I have offended the blog gods by not posting enough? Every time I try to take a quiz and post the results, it tells me the code is broken, or something like that, and won't let me do it. So my faithful readers (what few there may be) will have to live without knowing my extremely revealing quiz results.

In other news, Septa sucks hippodick, and I feel bad for the hippo in that scenario. Though I may turn into some sort of super-hot muscle dyke if I have to keep walking 30 or so blocks a day to get to work and back again. Here's to forced exercise! But Septa still sucks hippodick.

In other other news...there isn't any other news. My life is pretty dull, ladies and gentlemen.
