Why Having a Girlfriend is Great OR My Ego Loves Petting

So, I was having a bad afternoon. Really a bad day, though I didn't notice it until a little while ago. I'd just like to say that my really hot girlfriend's blog turned it right around. My ego is a purring kitten in her capable hands.

SO INSANE.

I'd just like to make a few statements.

1. I can't deal with Macs. I don't understand them. And they are very bouncy.
2. The new office where I'm working is insane.
3. I should never have agreed to start today. I have so much to do!
4. The YMCA stole my money and I am sad.
5. I don't think I have a 5, but it seemed even. Oh, I know, my neck and back hurt, I think from stressing out.

But Happy Hell Week!

Be Mine!

I had a lovely and relaxed Valentine's, I'm happy to say. We went to dinner at that Greek place by the Bryn Mawr train station, the one I passed by a billion times and still, in 6 years, never went to. The food was good, though not too cheap, and it was pretty entertaining to see so many really classic main-line couples all in one place, lol.... And then suddenly the woman eating alone to one side of us and the couple on the other side of us were both finished with their meals, and the waiter brought a red rose the the woman alone, and a red rose to the woman of the other couple...and Alex and I just looked at each other with the same thought on our faces. "What are they going to give us?"
It's interesting, because really the only logical thing to do would be to give us each a rose, which they did, two lovely pink ones. But even though that would really be the only option, since they were giving roses to all the women in the restaurant, I definitely played out scenarios in my head where they for some reason decided that we were definitely a couple, and that only one of us would get a rose, and I wondered who they would choose to be the "woman." It was really a strange experience, and somehow even stranger that Alex was thinking about it too. It sort of bothers me that I wasn't entirely sure that they would avoid the sort of odd insult that only one rose would be. Is it reasonable to be so attuned to where these kinds of issues could come up?
But aside from the rose question, it was a lovely evening. And my flowers are all cut and arranged in a huge glass on the living room table, brightening up the whole room.... :)

How Mystical!

You Are The Hermit

You posses a great deal of wisdom and the ability to see people for who they are.
You are always looking ahead at the future, developing visions.
A loner, you tend to travel by yourself through life, seeking your own truth.
You don't crave material things or fancy titles. You have no baggage.

Your fortune:

It's possible that there is a unknown guiding figure in your life, ready to help you.
All you have to do is find this person and seek their advice.
It's also possible that you need to start seeking the meaning of your own life.
Either way, there's some deep thinking you need to undertake, and it needs to be done soon.

What Is a Life Path Number, Anyway?

Your Life Path Number is 7

Your purpose in life is to find truth and meaning

You are very spiritual, and you are interested in the mysteries of life.
You are quite analytical and a great thinker. You have many theories and insights.
A life of solitude is perfect for you. You need time to think and do things your way.

In love, you are quite charming. You attract many with your confidence and wit.

While you enjoy being alone, sometimes you take it to an extreme.
You can become too isolated, shutting out loved ones and friends.
Express yourself a little bit more, and you'll be surprised where it takes you!

Interesting! Though I've Always Thought Michelangelo.

Who Should Paint You: Alfred Gockel

All American yet funky, you inspire an artist's imagination
And while not everyone will understand your portrait, you will!

Mmmm, Donuts.....

You Are a Boston Creme Donut
You have a tough exterior. No one wants to mess with you.But on the inside, you're a total pushover and completely soft. You're a traditionalist, and you don't change easily. You're likely to eat the same doughnut every morning, and pout if it's sold out.

I HATE MONEY.

I hate money. I hate money, I hate money, I hate money. One of these days I will have a nervous breakdown, and become utterly deranged, and live in a world of my own where there is no currency, like on Star Trek. No matter how carefully I try to keep track, I never fail to incur this fee or that fee, or overdraw here, or go over my limit there, and with this switching jobs thing there just aren't enough paychecks to cover me. I am left with negative account balances, and a nagging feeling that the world is going to end, or that I am going to explode, or that I will somehow become a raving homeless person begging for change. And I hate borrowing, and I hate asking my parents for money, and I hate having no money at all, and I hate everything that involves spending money that I don't have, and I hate the fact that I am clearly so careless, so moronic, so completely incapable, that I can't more than two months without being overdrawn. Perhaps I should never do anything fun ever again, and only eat at home, and not buy random things for myself or other people. Perhaps all my money should be taken out of my control, and given over to someone with a brain who can dole it out for me in small, specifically budgeted increments.

Perhaps I will go crazy, after all.

New Assignment, Fuzzy Feelings.

All right, first things first--I have a new job. The timeframe has been changing; the agency said three weeks, the supervisor here said two weeks, and my brain says probably more like a week and a half. I've gotten a good chunk of the work they have for me already finished. Hence my blog break! I don't want to finish my work before I've had a full week here, they're paying me $15/hour! :) As for the details, it's at Philadelphia University in Germantown (about an hour by bus from the apartment). I'm basically formatting/typing/proofreading/adjusting in various other ways the many appendices to the University's accreditation paperwork. Apparently their accreditation is re-evaluated every ten years, and 2006 is evaluation time again. It's a pretty sweet deal--I have some control over my hours, as long as there are 8 of them, and I have a pretty view, and there's a whole campus for me to explore in warm weather when I need a break; there's also a dining hall I can eat in, and a campus shop full of art supplies, because the University does a lot of art/fashion/textiles programs. As well as midwifery, which seems very random and interesting to me. All in all, I think I like this new assignment.

Now for the fuzzy feelings! I'm not sure exactly what I want to convey, here, except to say that I am so pleased to have some romance in my life. My mood lately has been vastly improved, and I'm sure that along with quitting my old job and having some time off, a little love has gone a long way for my mental state. Not to say that I didn't get love before, but you know. I'm blushing with my foot in my mouth, and there's no smiley for that. In short, thanks, Baby Seal.
